City of Dighton Announces Appointment of New Town Accountant

DIGHTON — The Dighton Board of Selectmen, jointly with City Administrator Michael Mullen, Jr., is pleased to announce that Dighton resident Janelle Vining has been appointed as Dighton’s new Town Accountant.

“We’re psyched to have Janelle bring her management and like for the Dighton group to City Corridor as a primary member of our finance workforce,” Town Administrator Mullen stated. “Her appointment will come at an exciting and critical time for Dighton as we do the job to reinforce our fiscal organizing, forecasting, and capital preparing.”

As Town Accountant, Vining, who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), will serve as an integral aspect of the monetary staff liable for monitoring, directing and auditing the town’s financial and accounting procedure, including keeping the fiscal records and programs of the city. She will also provide as a member of the town’s newly re-recognized Capital Outlay Committee.

Vining has over a decade of accounting knowledge, most lately serving as an Audit Supervisor at Farmer & First CPA’s. She retains a Bachelor of Science diploma in Accounting from Roger Williams University and a master’s degree in Organization Administration from the College of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

“Dighton is my residence, it’s our community, and I’m excited to commence serving as Town Accountant, working alongside our finance team, city officers and residents to keep on moving the city ahead,” Vining reported.

Vining will begin her new position inside the Town of Dighton on Aug. 2.She replaces former City Accountant, Christopher Laviolette.
