Director of Finance

Reporting directly to the President and General Manager, we are hiring a Director of Finance to join our Management Team at Downeast; overseeing the finance and accounting operations of Downeast across all departments.

This role will be broad in scope adding a level of strategic and analytical oversight to the business, in present and future. 

Responsibilities: 

• Direct timely and accurate preparation of all financial reporting on appropriate timelines and communicate to the Management Team
• Implement and maintain internal controls and safeguards for the organization
• Prepare financial statements, reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial projections and managing 3rd party accounting firm for annual audit to ensure organized and streamlined systems and structures
• Guide the preparation of budgets, forecasts and future planning, and financial projections
• Create a culture of scenario mapping and contingency planning both in managing current year and future year financial projections working with each department head and their teams of managers/directors
• Create and update appropriate dashboards; reporting and identifying variances and gaps, working cross functionally to bring forward strategic and tactical solutions once problems are identified
• Oversee payroll for the organization
• Manage tax preparation and filings
• Manage all finance and accounting personnel
• Lead the finance side of an ERP implementation 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related fields
• Minimum of five (5) years managing staff in a finance and accounting capacity on the industry side of the business; preferably in consumer packaged goods overseeing a manufacturing facility
• Experience with the beverage alcohol business is strongly preferred
• Advanced financial modeling expertise and demand/supply planning capabilities required
• Exceptional in analytics working with the MS Office suite, Google’s G-suite, and various syndicated data sources to analyze and report on the business
• Strong management and cross-functional leadership skills as this role has management responsibility and sits on the Downeast management team
• Experience with ERP implementation is a benefit
• Experience with Operations and/or Human Resources is a benefit; especially in a managerial capacity
